On the 9th of January, an education delegation of 26, from Xuzhou City, came to visit UCEC. The delegation was given an introduction to UCEC’s work, and Neil gave a speech about social governance and education in the UK.

On Tuesday 17th September, Neil was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the Shanghai Innovation and Emerging Industries Development (IEID) conference, in which he spoke about the future of education. 

On Monday 5th August, Neil attended a research workshop hosted by Beijing Normal University (BNU) with UCL IOE at Sanjiaoshi Kindergarten in Beijing’s Xincheng District.  Dr Clare Brooks from UCL IOE and Dr Heyi Zhang from BNU shared the literature review findings conducted by IOE and BNU, regarding Early Years education in China. On Sunday 4th August, Neil arrived in Beijing to visit the Jingshi Muhua offices. He was greeted by the Chair of Jingshi Muhua Bai Xiao, the General Manager Bo Zhang, the lead for Early Years education Pengwei Li, and Lisa Haoying Li from Beijing Normal University.
