In July 2022, the UCEC team were invited to visit Barking & Dagenham College, a general education college offering professional & technical courses for 16-18s, 19+, higher education programs, apprenticeships and traineeships.
Barking & Dagenham College is also home to the East London Institute of Technology which was launched in 2021 and is one of the first 12 colleges and universities nationally to have secured government funding to open an Institute of Technology.
The East London Institute of Technology (located in BDC’s Rush Green Campus) provides specialisms in the following sectors – all of which are critical to the London and UK economy:
- Construction & Infrastructure Technologies
- Advanced Engineering & Robotics
- Creative Digital (Film, Music Production, Animation & Games Design, 3D Design, Graphic Design and Esports)
- IT
